The Next New Thing

New media is a vital part of society these days. It is utilized in most of our daily routines and in businesses. It helps business reach a bigger crowd and go beyond their traditional local scope as well as help friends keep in touch.

A new media that can be introduced to people is a messenger similar to AIM (AOL Instant Messaging). AIM has died out over the years and other companies like Microsoft have developed a more useful tool such as Microsoft Lync that many businesses use these days. This new messenger will not be for business but for personal devices, mainly phones.

Have you ever been "AFK" (away from keyboard) or in this case, "Away from phone" but your friends are constantly messaging you in hopes of getting a fast response? Well this messenger will replace text messaging or can even be added to the traditional text messaging app already provided by your phone. This would be a new technology added to everyone's phones. This way, people know you're busy or whatever you may be doing, location, and much more. Of course, you have the option of blocking or hiding your status from certain people who you are not comfortable with sharing your status. This would change the way we communicate on our phones.
